Cake


Mayumi Oki

She talked about tart. It is made of pie, biscuit, whip cream, many kind of fruits and so on. That has long history. The etymology of tart is torta. Torta were sweets in Roma. The roots of this was in Greece and Egypt. It was made of  jam and cream. In Europe, people make tarto with many apples. It looks apple pie but they call it tart of apple. Mayumi introduced a tart that sold at Okayama station. It looked very tasty.
Good point: Sometimes, she made a presentation  without manuscript. And used pictures of tart.


Natsuki Tomeno

She talked about chocolate cake. It has meny kind of recipe. For example, it is made to coat a sponge cake with chocolate and mix dough with cocoa powder or chocolate. Mixing dough with cocoa is basic how to make. The cake contains little chocolate isn't called chocolate cake. Chocolate cake is eaten as daily dessert, birthday cake and christmas cake. It is called Gateau au chocolat too. The name came from French.
Good point: She speaked loud voice. So her presentation was easy to understand.


Mizuho Sakaguchi

She talked about mille-feuille. Mille-feuille is derived from France. Mille means thousand and feuille means leaf. So mille-feuille stands for thousands of leaves in French. The process of making mille-feuille is foldeing pie many times. Pie piled up many layer looks fallen leaves. So it called the name. Mille-feuille has many kind of form. Mill-feuille glace is made of mille-feuille put fondant or chocolate and drawn aroow on it. Expect it, there are mille-feuille provided remined cold .
Good point: She talked while changing different words into easy words. It was eansy to listen.


Yurie Yamashita

She talked about Mont Blanc. The name of it means Mt. Mont Blanc of Alpes. Mont Blanc has some style. In Europe, bace of Mont Blanc is made of sponge and Savoie's style use meringue. Mont Blanc has many kind of tastes. There are tastes of chestnut, sweet potato, pumpkin, chocolate and so on.
Good point. Her presentation was easy to listen. Her speaking volume and speed was good.


Ai Kawahara

She talked about cheese cake. It is made from creamcheese, milk and wheat etc. Cheese cake is baked in oven until cake turn light brown. It has a smooth taste. There are many kind of cheese cake. N.Y.cheese cake is made of creamcheese, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, cornstarch and so on. In Foreign country, baked cheese cake is major. Souffl cheese cake was born in Japan. The materiala of this cake is almost same of baked cheese cake. but souffl cheese cake is used milk instead of cream.
Good point: She used many picture of each cheese cake. So I could get many information.


Shiho Arima

She talked about fondant au chocolat. Fondant means melt. This cake is famous for all over the world. And in Japan it is eat frequently. Fondant au chocolat is made from fresh cream, suger, cocoa, wheat, hot water and so on. It is used chocolate sauce.
Good point: Her presentation was easy to understand. She used easy word.


Miho Ichigi

She talked about the cake without eggs and dairy products. That cake isn't used egg and milk so how to make it is special. It lookes like steamed bun. It is made from sweet potato and soy milk instead of dairy products. Chateraise a cake shop in Osaka makes cake without milk, eggs and wheat. I didn't know cake without dairy products. I want to try it very mach.
Good point: She speaked loud voice and it was detailed.


Juri Kawasaki

She talked about roll cake. It is one of cake well-known in Japan. It is eaten in celebration and special day. Roll cake looks so simple. Merengue is used on it and the merengue is creamy. We can make roll cake using frying pan. I didn't know that. I will try to make it with pan.
Good point: The content of her psedentation was very detailed and sophisticated.


Yuria Hamada
I talked about buche de Noel. Buche means log and Noel means Chiristmas in French. It looks like log in snow and it is eaten at Christmas. It is made of roll cake put cocoa cream and butter on it.

Own Prefecture's Food


Natsumi Matsuda
She talked about Nagasaki's food, Chanpon and Castella. Chanpon is originated in Nagasaki. It is well known that many kind of  vegetables are used in it. Castella is very famous food of Nagasaki too. Castella's taste is good so it is popular sweets.
Good point: Natsumi's presentation was easy to understand for me. Her voice was loud.


Maria Iba
She talked about Ushibuka city's food, Bakudan, Akamaki, Kamaboko and Koppamochi. Bakudan is made of boiled egg and steamed fish paste. It looks like bom. Bakudan and Akamai are eaten in celebration. Kamaboko is steamed fish paste. Koppamochi is made from sweet potato and glutinous rice mainly.
Good point: Maria's voice was easy to listen. And she used pictures of food.


Mayumi Oki
She talked about Hyogo's food, Kobe beef and Kobe pudding. They are famous food in Kobe city. They are delisious and expensive. And she intoroduced Mosaic in Harborland. Mosaic is restaurant area and Harborland is large commercial building. There are many restaurants and eating houses in Mosaic.
Good point: Mayumi's presentation was good. It was easy to listen and understand.


Yuri Okumura
She talked about Kumamoto's food, Karashi-renkon and Basashi. Basashi says horse-meat sashimi in English. Basashi and Karashi-renkon are special product in Kumamoto. Karashi-renkon is made of mustard and lotus root. It is originated in Kumamoto and very healthy for us.
Good point: Yuri's presentation was easy to understand. She explained difficult passages.


Ayaka Kondou
She talked about Fukuoka's food, Hakata-ramen. It is used soup of pork belly and bones. It looks white soup. And the noodle is thinner than any other area's ramen. Because thin noodle coutains much soup so it taste is good.
Good point: Ayaka's voice was good to listen.


Momoko Nakashioya
She talked about Fumuoka's food, Nanban ourai, Tourimon and Menbei. They are popular sweets in Fukuoka. Nanban ourai has three kinds of taste, raspberry, blueberry and chestnut. The taste of raspberry is standard and blueberry and chestnut are on sale for a limited season. Tourimon is made of white bean paste. Menbei is Japanede style cookie used mentaiko.
Good point: Momoko's presentation was easy to listen. It was good to show us picture of food.


Hikari Takase
She talked about Miyazaki's food, Chicken-nanban. Chicken-nanban is fried chicken with vinegar and tartar sauce. It is one of representative food of Miyazaki. Fried chicken is flooded in sweetened vinegar thoroughly. And tartar sauce is on it. It is very popular food in Miyazaki.
Good point: Hikari talked in a loud voice and the content was easy to understand.


Natsumi Sakai
She talked about Kumamoto's food, Karashi-renkon. She introduced history of it. It was made in 300 years ago. Gentaku, a Buddhist priest, suggested it for Tadatishi Hosokawa, daimyo of Higo-han. Tadaoki was sickly. But after eat it, he became fine. Karashi-renkon was spreaded the general public in the Meiji era.
Good point: Nastumi researched it in datail. I think the content was good.

Yuria Hamada
I talked about brand-name confectionary of Kumamoto, Musyagaeshi and Jindaiko.
